ABOUT ME
I live and work in the Amsterdam area in The Netherlands.
During the period 1985 - 1991 I studied Art History at the University of Leiden. After my study I have taken photography courses at Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London (1999) and Fotoacademie in Amsterdam (2014-2016).
I aim to invoke thoughts. The images I make are invitations for contemplation. In a hectic world full of incitement I like to invite people to take time and to contemplate on what is genuinely important to them and their lives.
A recurring theme in my artwork is the relationship between men and nature: we love it, idolize it, need it, try to controle it and ever more often supersede it.
